StyleSync respects your privacy. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't do with it.
Information We Collect
Account: your email address and authentication identifier. Activity: visual searches and detected garments you save to your wishlist or smart closet. Photos: any image you explicitly add to your closet is stored under your account so the closet can render it later. One-shot search photos (uploaded just to find similar items) are NOT stored — they are processed and discarded.
How We Use Information
We use your data to run the visual search and closet features, personalize outfit suggestions, and improve product quality. We do not sell your personal information. We do not train AI models on your photos. Aggregated, non-identifying usage metrics (e.g. "average detection time") may be used to optimize the service.
Photo Handling
Photos you upload for one-shot visual search are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) over a TLS connection, used only to detect garments, and discarded once the response returns. Photos you explicitly add to your Smart Closet are stored on our infrastructure (Supabase storage, encrypted at rest) until you delete the item or your account.
Third-Party Services
We use Anthropic for AI vision detection, Supabase for account and data storage, and Vercel for hosting. We participate in the Amazon Associates program; clicking an "AI Search on Amazon" link routes you to amazon.com and may earn us a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Amazon's own privacy policy governs anything you do on their site.
Your Rights
You can export everything we hold on your account, or delete your account and all associated data, from the Settings page. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. You can also revoke any third-party (Google, Apple) sign-in from the provider's own settings.

Data retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Closet items + wishlist items: kept until you delete them or close your account. Search history: 90 days. Outfit logs: kept for the life of your account (used to power the calendar / repeats UI). Audit logs (sign-ins, failed sign-ins): 12 months. Community posts: kept until you unshare. After account deletion, residual backups are purged within 30 days.
International data transfers
Some of our processors (Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, Google AdSense, Skimlinks, Amazon Associates) are located in the United States. When you use StyleSync from the EU/EEA/UK, your personal data is transferred to the US. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework as our lawful transfer mechanism.

We are not currently required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under GDPR Art. 37, but the support email serves as the primary privacy contact.
Advertising
StyleSync may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to personalize ads, measure their effectiveness, and prevent fraud. Advertising loads ONLY after you consent via our cookie banner. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and manage your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
Affiliate links
Outbound links to retailers may be processed by Skimlinks (a Connexity company) to attribute purchases and pay us a small commission. Skimlinks loads ONLY after you opt in via our cookie banner. Their privacy notice is at skimlinks.com/privacy-policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use the following cookie categories: Necessary (sign-in session, locale preference — always on); Analytics (currently unused but reserved for future product analytics); Advertising (Google AdSense — only with your consent); Affiliate (Skimlinks — only with your consent). You can review and change your choices anytime from Settings → Cookie settings.
Children's privacy
StyleSync is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please email help.5108@outlook.com and we will delete it. Signup includes an age confirmation gate.
Filing a complaint
If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority. EU/EEA: the supervisory authority in your member state. UK: the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). California: the California Privacy Protection Agency (cppa.ca.gov).
Automated decisions
Outfit suggestions are generated by an AI model (Claude Sonnet 4.5 by Anthropic) based on your closet, recently-worn items, weather, calendar events, and your stated style preferences. These suggestions are informational and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects. You can ignore, dismiss, or override any suggestion.
